Bridge the Gap: Connecting STEM & Community
Unite, Innovate, Adapt
Building a sustainable STEM environment for communities locally, nationally, and globally!
Team 5449 Prototype
We are are a group of cross-national high school students who design, build, and program industrial sized robots for the annual FIRST Robotics Competition.
This year, we created a new team structure: a collaboration across borders. Our team is based in Beijing, China and Vancouver, Canada, joining hands to bring more STEM opportunities to our community.
We are founded in Beijing, China in 2014, and now we have grown into a cross-border FRC team with members in both Beijing and Vancouver.

Bridge the Gap
“Bridge the Gap” means increasing access to STEM education for communities facing challenges such as lack of funding, limited resources, language barriers, or harmful stereotypes that create a “Gap” in opportunities to thrive in STEM.
Our goal is to “Bridge” this gap by creating a sustainable STEM learning ecosystem that provides quality education resources for students around the world.
WHY STEM?
STEM education doesn’t just teach how to solve equations—it builds critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills essential in any field as well as it’s a hands-on skill that powers every step and challenge we take on.
