Sponsor & Donate – Help Us Bridge the Gap

A Global STEM Partnership with FRC Team 5449 “Prototype” & CARAT Lab – Canadian Association for Robotics, AI and Technology.

Your support helps us “Bridge the Gap” in STEM — across resources, generations, accessibility, awareness, and finances — connecting students in Canada, China, and beyond.

More Than a Robotics Team. We Are Bridge Builders.

FRC Team 5449 “Prototype” is a Canada–China collaborative robotics team connecting youth across the Pacific Ocean.

We are supported by CARAT Lab (Canadian Association for Robotics, AI and Technology), a youth-focused STEM nonprofit dedicated to building sustainable learning ecosystems.

Our core belief is simple: everyone deserves the opportunity to shape the future through STEM — regardless of income, language, location, or learning needs.

By partnering with us, you are not just putting a logo on a robot — you are helping students create real, measurable community impact in Vancouver, Beijing, and beyond.

The Gaps We Face in STEM Today

Many students want to join STEM and FIRST, but are blocked by one or more gaps.

Resource Gap

Schools and teams lack basic kits, parts, and field elements.

Generational Gap

Seniors are left out of the digital world, often targeted by online scams.

Accessibility Gap

Students with special needs often do not get adapted STEM experiences.

Awareness Gap

Many families, schools, and communities have never heard of FIRST or robotics.

Financial Gap

Registration fees and basic equipment are still out of reach for many teams.

Our Solution: The Five Bridges of Impact

Five modular, scalable programs designed to close key STEM gaps and deliver measurable impact.

  • Resource Bridge: FIRST Parts Recycling System – LEGO/FLL → FTC/FRC.
  • Generational Bridge: Senior STEM “Cyber Bridge” – cybersecurity and digital literacy for seniors.
  • Accessibility Bridge: Disability Organization STEM Day – inclusive, sensory-friendly STEM stations.
  • Awareness Bridge: Community events, library workshops, mall demos, and FLL mentoring.
  • Financial Bridge: Sponsor & Funding Support Line and STEM Bridge Grants.

What Your Sponsorship & Donation Make Possible

Bridge 1 – Resource Gap

Goal: Equal STEM access for low-resource schools.

  • Collect, repair, and redistribute LEGO/FLL kits.
  • Expand to FTC/FRC hardware reuse (motors, sensors, aluminum).

Impact (2025–2026): 200+ students reached, 150+ rebuilt kits, multi-team Recycling Alliance.

Bridge 2 – Generational Gap

Goal: Digital literacy and cyber safety for seniors.

  • Cybersecurity workshops and anti-fraud awareness.
  • 1:1 student–senior mentorship using simple robots and devices.

Impact: 30 seniors, +30% post-test improvement, 2 partner homes by 2026.

Bridge 3 – Accessibility Gap

Goal: Inclusive STEM experiences for students with special needs.

  • Sensory-friendly LEGO and robotics stations.
  • 1v1 teaching with visual supports and co-training with teachers.

Impact: 80+ contact hours • ≥90% satisfaction rate • teachers trained for replication.

Bridge 4 – Awareness Gap

Goal: Expand STEM visibility & FIRST outreach.

  • Library workshops and RoboPlanet LEGO events.
  • Shopping mall promotion booths and LEGO donation drives.
  • School outreach and FLL mentoring.

Impact: 500+ participants • 250+ volunteer hours • 3+ media features.

Bridge 5 – Financial Gap

Goal: Sustainable funding so STEM stays open to all.

  • Corporate outreach and sponsor network.
  • STEM Bridge Grants for FIRST registration and outreach.

Impact: $3,000+ raised • 3 sustained partners (target growing) • more schools able to join FIRST.

By the end of 2026, your support helps us reach ≈2,300+ people — students, families, seniors, special needs learners, sponsors, and international partners through the STEM Bridge Ecosystem.

  • Support STEM Bridge Grants for new or under-resourced teams.
  • Fund LEGO recycling events and inclusive workshops.
  • Help maintain the STEM Bridge Hub and Impact Dashboard.

In-kind & Equipment Donations

We welcome appropriate in-kind support aligned with FIRST safety and program rules, especially for the FIRST Parts Recycling System.

  • LEGO bricks and FLL kits in good condition.
  • FTC / FRC hardware (motors, sensors, structure) that can be safely reused.
  • Event materials (table covers, signage, printing, basic tech equipment).

Custom Corporate Partnerships

If your organization has a specific focus (AI, seniors, accessibility, education, sustainability), we are happy to co-design a Bridge Project with you.

Examples: sponsoring a Senior Cyber Bridge series, supporting an Inclusive STEM Day, or co-branding an international Recycling Alliance.
