Get Involved

Join us in “Bridging the Gap” and building a sustainable STEM ecosystem — locally, nationally, and globally.

Whether you are a student, parent, school, FIRST team, sponsor, or international partner, there is a concrete way for you to take action. Every contribution feeds into our STEM Bridge Ecosystem and the global “Bridge the Gap” mission.

Who Can Get Involved?

Our impact grows when different groups bring their strengths together.

Students

Join FLL, FTC, or FRC programs; lead a Bridge Project (LEGO Donation, Senior Cyber Bridge, Disability STEM Day); volunteer at workshops and mini contests.

Ideal for: youth who want to learn, lead, and create new STEM opportunities for others.

Parents & Families

Support transportation, snacks, event logistics, and communication. Help connect us with schools, community centers, or potential sponsors.

Ideal for: families who want to build a long-term STEM environment for their children and community.

Schools & Community Centers

Host LEGO workshops, STEM Days, senior home partnerships, or inclusive STEM events. Become a regular partner in the STEM Bridge Ecosystem.

Ideal for: schools and organizations that want sustainable STEM programs, not just one-time activities.

FIRST Teams (FLL / FTC / FRC)

Join our cross-team Recycling Alliance, co-host outreach events, or replicate one of the Bridge Projects using our toolkits.

Ideal for: teams working on Impact, Inspire, or similar awards who want a replicable outreach model.

Sponsors & Donors

Support FLL registrations, event costs, hardware recycling, and STEM Bridge Grants for under-resourced teams. Receive transparent reports and recognition.

Ideal for: companies and individuals who believe in long-term STEM access and equity.

International Partners

Collaborate on Recycling Day, Cyber Bridge Online, Inclusive STEM Handbook, and global STEM Bridge Hub content.

Ideal for: schools and teams outside Canada who want to share and co-create impact projects.

How You Can Take Action

Below are concrete action paths connected to our major programs and the five Bridges of Impact.

For Students

  • Join a Team: Participate in FLL, FTC, or FRC teams connected to our STEM Bridge Ecosystem.
  • Lead a Project: Become a project lead for LEGO Donation, Senior Cyber Bridge, Disability STEM Day, or Community Events.
  • Document Impact: Help manage data entry, photos, videos, and storytelling for the STEM Bridge Hub.
  • Mini Contests: Compete in STEM Mini Contests to prototype ideas quickly.

Tip for students: Use these projects and leadership roles as part of your FIRST Impact Award, scholarships, and future applications.

For Parents & Families

  • Event Support: Help with transportation, supervision, snacks, and check-in at LEGO workshops and mini contests.
  • Network Connector: Introduce potential partners — schools, companies, senior homes, disability centers.
  • Story Partner: Share reflections as parents to show community impact and encourage other families to join.

How to start: Contact us through the Contact page and mention that you would like to volunteer as a parent supporter.

For Schools & Community Organizations

  • Host an Event: Invite us to run LEGO workshops, STEM Day, or a Small Contest on your campus.
  • Launch a Program: Start FLL or STEM clubs with support from our LEGO Donation Program or STEM Bridge Grants.
  • Co-Design Curriculum: Collaborate on inclusive STEM activities for seniors, special needs students, or multilingual communities.

How to start: Use our Contact form and choose “School / Organization Partnership”. We will follow up with a simple MOU template from the STEM Bridge Hub.

For FIRST Teams

  • Replicate a Bridge Project: Choose Resource, Generational, Accessibility, Awareness, or Financial gap and run a local version.
  • Join Recycling Alliance: Share FTC/FRC hardware, motors, and sensors with under-resourced teams.
  • Share Data & Stories: Contribute to the STEM Bridge Hub with your own toolkits and event reports.

How to start: Visit the Projects page, pick one Bridge area, then reach out via Contact with the subject “FIRST Team Collaboration”.

Sponsor & STEM Bridge Grants

Closing the financial gap so that more teams and schools can join FIRST and access STEM.

Through our Sponsor & Funding Support Line, we partner with companies and individual donors to:

  • Fund FLL registrations and starter kits for new or under-resourced teams.
  • Support community events: LEGO Donation Program, Senior Cyber Bridge, Disability STEM Day, Small Contests.
  • Provide STEM Bridge Grants for schools and teams that want to replicate our projects in their own region.

In return, sponsors receive transparent impact reports through our Impact & Results page and the STEM Bridge Hub.
